Agade

My name is Agade and I am 22 years old. I grew up in Mathare North slum, Nairobi and went to school in Kibera slum. Art has always been my passion – I started drawing cars with pencils when I was just 8 years. My sister taught me how to create mosaic and sculpture art. At 15, I began using crayons, but it was when I discovered recycled art that I started  taking it seriously.  I find inspiration in the social and political situation in all of the slums in Kenya. I believe that through art, we can bring about change and fight against corruption and social injustice perpetuated by the political class
